works as advertised
Posted by Greg starks on 6th Jan 2017Works well to winterize your Marine ac units without turning on the pump. Fits into various strainers when winterizing your engines in the water. Not usefull in all applications...
Posted by Unknown on 16th Dec 2016I have two engines in my Sea Ray and the Sea Flush did not fit everything in my boat. It worked fine as described with the port engine. The starboard engine the oil dip stick was in the way and could not use Se Flush. Worked ok winterizing the generator but would not work winterizing the air conditioner. Not enough room above the strainer.Great help for winterizing
Posted by Rob on 7th Dec 2016I found the sea flush system a great help and time saver for the every year task of winterizing.
Two main Cat engines, generator and two AC units make for a full days work however using SeaFlush cuts it to about 2 hours. Lost first one I bought so ordered second one as I did not want to spend the one day.
It is rare that a product advertised performs as it is suppose, but this does.Success the first time
Posted by John Brock on 22nd Nov 2016I have always winterized my Chris Craft with inboards by circulating antifreeze from the exhaust to the thru-hull intake until the thermostat opened.
The new Chris has closed cooling. I still used the recirculation method for the first two seasons. This season I wanted to do the job without depending on my buddies with the recirculation fixture.
I was going to try just pouring antifreeze into the strainer, but worried I would not be able to keep up with the engine's draw. So I decided to go with a proven method and not screw around.
Sea Flush worked perfectly with the available snorkel to draw antifreeze out of a 5 gallon bucket. No mess, no experimenting and fooling around.IT works.should have purchased this year
Posted by Unknown on 16th Nov 2016I keep seeing the sea flush and snorkel at boat shows and in boating magazines and keep telling myself 'maybe for next years winterization '. I finally ordered the seaflush and snorkel this year and it cut down the time it takes to winterize my engines, generator and air-conditioning systems and I used a lot less antifreeze.
Iam looking forward to using it next season to flush the systems with barnacle buster
Great productMADE ALL EASY
Posted by steve pokorny on 16th Nov 2016LOVED ITdoes the job
Posted by g merlo on 6th Nov 2016Unit works as advertised! If it wasn't for the manufacturer placing the sea strainers in a location where access is almost impossible it would have been a better experience. Note : if you have the smaller sea strainers - the sea flush may not work as discribed as the funnel blocks the sea side of the strainer not allowing you to purge the line to the sea chest. I found that the shop vac hose with a cotton rag works really good . It is also better to remove the water from the strainer before you purge. I also found that if you have the capacity in the shop vac - pull a suction on the Ac strainer as the reverse flow pulls all the schmootz from the condenser - then blow the antifreeze though the lines ( I used the blue funnel to add antifreeze as the pump was turned on and it pushes the antifreeze through the condenser). The papar towel gaske is a must and you will have to use a new one for each strainer. I was able to complete 4 boats in one day and the sea flush made the job a lot easier . Thanks!no mess
Posted by Chris A on 6th Nov 2016I always fought making a bit of a mess winterizing the boat. This system was a breeze. Did my whole boat in about 1 and a half hour. Used much less antifreeze and made zero mess. Love this thing.Making Winterizing More Enjoyable
Posted by Dave on 1st Nov 2016What a great concept! Once you get into the flow it really reduces the time you are in the bilge of your boat. 2 engines, generator, AC and Water System. Of course the water system is not a part of this but it took a total of 3 hours start to finish. Vacuum the sea strainers, blow out the sea strainers, hook hose to funnel and let it rip. I used to have spare hoses that I got out once a year to make this easier. Took off hoses at the water pumps, put longer spares on and put them in a 5 gallon bucket. No more!Works well - when it fits
Posted by Unknown on 28th Sep 2016No problems with the device. Worked like a charm and made flushing my seawater systems a snap. Like others, I do recommend using the paper towel gasket. Fits my main seawater inlet strainer without issue - there was room. But my A/C intake strainer is in a bit tighter of a space and had to revert to other methods. Recommend the manufacturer develop a device for use in cramped spaces where the minimum clearance is not achievable (such as those you find on most sailboats).

During their recent message to West Marine shareholders in the West Marine 3rd quarter conference call, Matt Hyde, CEO announced that West Marine will close all of their Canadian stores in 2015.
Boating Industry Canada has learned that in the next year, leases on 7 of their 10 stores in Canada expire. We were told that when a lease expires on any of their West Marine stores, the company evaluates it against minimum financial delivery to decide whether to renew the lease. In the case of these 7 Canadian locations, none of the stores meet West Marine minimums. Because of this, the company announced the the difficult decision to phase out of the Canadian stores over the next few years, as their leases expire. It was also stated that through this process, West marine will continue to support their Canadian stores for the next few years.
We contacted a West Marine company spokesperson for further comment and we were told, “For a long time, we have grappled with providing for the needs of our Canadian stores, customers and associates. A few months ago we were advised by our landlord that the lease for our Toronto, Canada store would not be renewed. Since then, we have been evaluating our options in Toronto and the implications for our Canadian operations.”
This person continued, “...We have made the difficult decision to phase out of the Canadian stores over the next few years, as our leases expire. Making a decision like this is never easy. We’ve learned a lot in the past 10 years about the Canadian market. It is very different than the US market and requires time, attention and focus that we’ve been unable to fully deploy as we work on our business here
in the U.S.
Phasing out of our Canadian stores will take a few years. We will continue to support our stores, associates and customers as we go through this process.”
Boating Industry Canada was at the grand opening of the first West Marine Superstore in Fort Lauderdale in 2012 and since then, the company has opened several more much larger stores that include substantial floor space for summer and boating fashion, footwear and other items that apply to a more broad consumer target.
The Canadian stores are small size retail locations that will not suit the marketing direction pioneered by the Fort Lauderdale store. It remains to be seen if West Marine will take this super store direction in select Canadian markets, or if the company will focus more on their web-based retail operations but at present, the company seems to be doing much better in their home market.
